About Us

'Uffculme Library Friends’ is a small charity set up to promote the use of the library, and the wider aim of promoting literacy, learning and literature in Uffculme and surrounding villages.

We are one of a number of Friends Groups set up to support libraries across Devon.

The purposes of the Uffculme Library Friends charity are:

  2. To support specific activities in the Uffculme Library, or to promote the Library;
  3. To raise funds, donations, grants or sponsorship for library activities;
  4. To represent users by providing feedback to Libraries Unlimited, on behalf of Devon County Council, on services, opening hours, stock, library presentation, and other library matters;
  5. To encourage and organise volunteer support for specific purposes, in liaison with Libraries Unlimited, on behalf of Devon County Council, when appropriate for Charity activities and library events;
  6. To co-ordinate a community response to Libraries Unlimited, on behalf of Devon County Council, service developments and changes;
